Product and process
What does it mean for food to be air-dried?
Air-dried is a low-temperature air-drying process used for fresh ingredients such as meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, and superfoods. These ingredients are chopped and mixed while fresh and then processed in our ovens through a slow and controlled drying process.
Before drying, the formulation is equivalent to a BARF diet due to its fresh and natural composition. After the air-dried process, a stable, safe, and highly nutritious food is obtained that retains most of the original nutrients, making it one of the most advanced forms of natural feeding for dogs and cats.
How does it differ from traditional feed or wet food?
The main difference lies in the texture, nutritional density, and digestibility.
Air-dried food has a much more appealing texture and significantly superior palatability compared to traditional dry food. Being up to four times more nutrient-dense, it provides more nutrients in smaller quantities, reducing the digestive load and promoting better nutrient absorption.
The air-dried process preserves essential nutrients better than other cooking methods, improving the bioavailability of the ingredients. Furthermore, it can be stored at room temperature without refrigeration, and once opened, it is recommended to consume it within 30 days to maintain its optimal freshness.
Is it a complete or complementary food?
Air-dried Superfood is a complete food. It is formulated following FEDIAF nutritional guidelines and meets all the necessary guarantees to continuously cover the daily nutritional needs of dogs and cats.
Nutrition and safety
Is it suitable for dogs and cats of all ages?
Yes, provided the appropriate menu is chosen according to the life stage. All our formulas are specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of each stage, from puppies to adults and seniors, contributing to a high level of well-being.
How do I know how much to give my pet?
On each air-dried menu's product page, you'll find the recommended feeding guide. It's common for pets to eat more than usual during the first few days due to the product's high palatability.
After an adaptation period of 5 to 7 days, the dog usually self-regulates and consumes only the amount it needs. In most cases, this amount is less than what it would get with traditional dry food, due to the higher nutritional density of air-dried food.
Is it safe for pets with allergies or sensitivities?
Our menus are complete and suitable for healthy dogs and cats. They are not a substitute for veterinary advice. In case of allergies, sensitivities, or specific health conditions, we recommend consulting your trusted veterinarian beforehand.
If you need it, you can contact us and we will forward your query to our team of veterinarians to answer your questions.
Where is it manufactured and with what ingredients?
All our products are manufactured in our own factory located in Alcorisa, Teruel. We use ingredients of national origin, including meats, fish, fruits, and vegetables.
Superfoods come from national suppliers who work with raw materials of controlled origin, such as kelp seaweed, grown in areas such as Alaska, Norway or Iceland.
Use and storage
How should I transition to air-dried food?
If you are coming from a traditional dry food diet, the transition to air-dried superfood usually takes place over a period of 3 to 5 days, gradually mixing both foods.
If the transition is from a BARF diet, the process is usually even simpler from a digestive standpoint, as the bioavailability of the ingredients is similar. In this case, the main adjustment involves scaling up the portion, since air-dried food has an approximate 4:1 ratio of fresh to dry ingredients. The digestive system needs a smaller quantity to achieve the same or even higher energy levels.
How should I store the product once opened?
Once opened, the product should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and possible pests, keeping the container tightly closed or using an airtight container.
What is the expiration date?
The expiration date is 18 months from the date of manufacture, provided the product is kept in its original packaging. This applies to both air-dried superfood meals and dehydrated natural snacks.
Once opened, it is recommended to consume the product preferably within 30 days.
Natural dehydrated snacks
How often can I give natural snacks?
As a general guideline, one or two pieces a day are recommended for small dogs, one to three pieces for medium dogs, and two to five pieces a day for large dogs, always adapting the amount to the size and activity level.
Can they replace a meal?
Natural snacks cannot replace a complete meal. They are a complement to a balanced diet and contribute positively to the dental and digestive health of dogs and cats.
Are they suitable for puppies?
The minimum recommended age is two months, although this will depend on the breed and chewing needs. Natural treats help relieve stress and promote proper dental development during growth.
Can I give several types of snacks at the same time?
Yes, provided that the recommended daily portions are respected and a balance is maintained within the overall diet.
