Before 1996, Xavi lived in a house on the outskirts of Barcelona with a pack of Samoyeds that kept growing. Those were years of quiet learning, of observing, of understanding dogs beyond mere habit. Among them appeared a different kind of female, Lolita . She had something that defies explanation, a serene and magnetic presence. She changed the course of many things.

Together they traveled paths and competition tracks. They weren't competing to stand out, but to keep walking together. One of those competitions took them to the United Kingdom, and there Xavi discovered something unique: natural snacks. Simple and honest. For her and the rest of the pack, they were an instant discovery. They devoured them with a different intensity, with an enjoyment Xavi had never seen before.

He went back for more. At first, for himself. Then to share with other breeders and caregivers in the area. Months passed, and something began to become clear. These snacks were different. They weren't just more appealing; they were better for their digestion. There was something genuine about them. And then came the decision that changed everything: to make them himself. First at home, with his own hands, and later in his first workshop. Hobbitalf was born. Without a grand plan, but with a very clear conviction: to create something unique for them. Something that hundreds of dogs would begin to enjoy and that, over time, would prove to be, quite simply, the best.

Thirty years later, history repeats itself. Xavi, this time with his son Albert, discovers air-dried food. A complete feeding method, based on air drying, that naturally connects with decades of prior experience. Research, learn, question everything, and start again. Once more, the same drive: to create something new to improve the lives of many dogs and cats and the people who care for them like family.

The philosophy hasn't changed since day one. Make it ourselves. Make only the best. Make it the way you would at home. By hand, with love, with patience, thinking of them every step of the way.
